Graduated May 2022 at the Fotoacademie Amsterdam
Works as a freelance designer and photographer by her own Atelier 79.
Annemieke Wijmer lives and works in Amsterdam as an autonomous photographer and independent designer. With an extensive background in fashion design and styling she started 6 years ago a photographic academy and finished this study successfully in May 2022.
Becoming Me - 2018
Taken its origin in autobiographical experiences, she researches the often complicated relations we have with others through the metaphor of the blind spot. With her analogue camera, images, short videos, books and installations, she explores different ways of the medium photography and its standards. Trying to find throughout this process a new photographic way to best tell her stories. She challenges the viewer to take an active participating role while looking at the images.
