  1. The misfit, the odd man, the one broken with family, the outsider

  2. A way of saying someone does not belong to the group or family. It comes from herding a group of sheep, where in the old days they placed a black sheep in the hurt to distract the evil from the white (good) sheep. As the black one would stand out in the hurt full of white sheep.

This work is about the feeling of a black sheep, the feeling you don’t belong in a group, you don’t fit in , you think different, feel different, act different than what the rest of the group thinks is acceptable. The feeling is not necessarily a negative feeling
